Jane Novak, my co-blogger from The Jawa Report, was a guest on Fox & Friends today, and she discusses her blog, Armies Of Liberation, and her quest to save the life of Yemeni journalist al-Khaiwani. Al-Khaiwani is currently awaiting sentencing, following a conviction for speaking against Yemeni dictator, President Saleh, and reporting on the "secret" civil war raging in northern Yemen. Al-Khaiwani is a strong advocate for democracy and free speech, remarkable in that part of the world... and for his beliefs, he may face a death sentence. For his part, al-Khaiwani has remained steadfast in his support for democracy and a free press, and he tells Jane he recognizes some sacrifices must be made for freedom and democracy. Truly a brave man, of great conviction.
